HOSPITALS

Establishing healthier connections

Life in the hospital is almost like a parallel universe. Having faced two major illnesses in the family I have experienced first-hand how detached from reality you can become when spending months in a hospital bed and waiting room. People can under estimate how hard and lonely life after cure can be. Surviving is just the beginning because adjusting to a new “normal” post trauma has many ups and downs. There is no quick fix, because everyone is unique but I partner individuals and organisations to improve patients integration into work and life post cure.

My book “Tumor Me” shares different survivors’ stories on the realities of life after the all clear and how individual the experience can be, but how the ultimate goal is to improve functioning, quality of life and fatigue post cure.

“When you’re in ´survivor mode´ your focus is on getting through the day in one piece... there’s no space for words like “community” or “ we” or “us”.
